Privacy Policy

The short version: this site collects very little. If you send a message through the contact form, I use it to reply to you, and that's it. Nothing is sold, shared for marketing, or used to build an advertising profile.

Who this covers

This policy covers askmiddlebrook.com, operated by Middlebrook Technology Advisors ("Middlebrook," "I," or "me"). It explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Information you give me

When you use the contact form, you provide your name, email address, optionally your organization, and your message. That information is sent to me by email so I can respond. I use it only to reply to you and, if we decide to work together, to carry on that conversation.

The form isn't stored in a database on this site. Messages live in my business email, and I keep them as long as they're useful for our conversation or working relationship. You can ask me to delete them at any time.

Information collected automatically

• Website analytics. I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see basic, aggregate information like page views, referring sites, and general device types. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other websites.
• Spam protection. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Turnstile processes limited technical signals from your browser for that purpose only. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum for details.
• A session cookie. The site sets a temporary session cookie that helps protect the contact form from forged submissions. It isn't used for tracking or advertising and expires when your session ends.
• Server logs. Like nearly every website, the hosting server keeps standard logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time) for security and troubleshooting.

Third-party services

To load quickly and look right, the site uses a few outside services. When your browser loads a page, it connects to them directly, which means they receive your IP address:

• Google Fonts for typefaces
• cdnjs (Cloudflare) for icons
• Cloudflare for analytics and spam protection, described above

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. This site doesn't use advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or retargeting tools.

What I don't do

• I don't sell, rent, or trade your information.
• I don't add you to a mailing list without asking.
• I don't share your message with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Your choices

You can ask what information I have from you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Just send a message and I'll take care of it. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser; the only thing that would affect is sending the contact form.

Children

This site is intended for businesses and organizations and isn't directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the date at the top of the page.
